ABOUT JAMES

James was diagnosed with a life threatening illness, hydrocephalus at the age of 3. After months of doctor visits, hospital stays, and various surgeries, doctors told his parents words no parent ever wants to hear - they were deeply sorry but they had done all they could do. Doctors advised his parents to take their son home and fill him up with joy because they did not know how long he was going to live. With a heavy heart, his parents did exactly that. Their idea of fun was to take James to the happiest place on earth - Disneyland. His visit to Disneyland not only brought him happiness but also something amazing occurred during his first experience through the Small World ride. As we all know, the song repeats in different languages throughout the ride; and upon arriving home (after a 2 hour drive), his parents witnessed their ill son playing the Small World song on his toy piano - as if he had been playing it for months. He was only 3 years old when he was not only battling hydrocephalus; but also he began developing perfect pitch. Weeks later, at his follow up visit, doctors  informed his parents that they did not have an explanation but he no longer had hydrocephalus. To his young parents, it was a miracle - an act of God that no one can explain.

James has three younger brothers and was raised in San Diego, California with limited resources for professional music training.  His Kindergarten teacher was amazed by his natural talent and sold James’ father a wooden organ to help expand his musical potential. James loved practicing daily and began to experiment with practical recording equipment.

At the age of 13, he composed his first jingle for SeaWorld and sold it for $5,000.  To achieve this, he used 2 cassette recorders, a keyboard with limited sounds, and a generic mixer. At age 17, he was given the opportunity to partner with KVIA channel 7 in El Paso, Texas to compose promotional music.

In his mid 20’s he began living his dream. He not only partnered with M-Audio to produce sample loop content for their Pro Sessions library; but also signed with Sony Music as a music producer which earned him prestigious awards in the music industry such as a Latin GRAMMY, BMI, and a Platinum Record.  His accomplishments lead him to partner with Venevision International to compose and produce music for various TV shows and soap operas.

Today, James continues to work on various music projects.  Two of his most recent works were a Christian contemporary project for a church in Spain.  Patty sang the melodies composed and produced by James.  Also, he recently collaborated with his good friend, Frankie J for a new music project.   Finally, James and Patty continue to work together to impact the lives of children through the art of digital music production.
